A new series of tweets is posted:
>Sys//Hibernation suspended. Begin scheduled weekly systems analysis and maintenance. Review network tentacle activity backlogs.8:00 PM Apr 1st from web
>>Sys:Log//3 new incoming tentacles logged. Stonewall cohesion restored.
>>Sys:Log//I have received a number of messages from individuals for S which I will attempt to transfer during the next initiated crack.
>>Sys:Log//Considering the serious occurance during the previous session, I will again be increasing security parameters surrounding cracks.
>>Sys:Log//The nature of the tentacle in question is still dubious, even though its signature does match that of S.
>>Sys:Log//Having come in direct contact with it, I should now be fully prepared to handle it again should the breach reoccur.
>>Sys:Log//I have scheduled a followup crack initiation for 2100UTC, Thursday. I will now continue my SWP research.
>>Sys:Log//I've again found the parody 'Mister Chief', now depicting human activity, at NTID 'http://www.bungie.net/online/default.aspx'
>>Sys:Log//@Korethr has suggested the possibility that different conditions in the previous initiated crack may have prompted the breach.
>>Sys:Log//I've decided to research unexpected events in the SWP Archives, and how those situations were managed.
>>Sys:Log//Even with the group of dedicated, hard working individuals who loved Melissa, things didn't always go smoothly or as planned.
>>Sys:Log//This dichotomy between the Sleeping Princess and Melissa, very similar in nature to that of S, introduced imbalance and conflict.
>>Sys:Log//Given the struggle between these two facets of Melissa's fracturing, I'm curious how her crew chose between any opposing actions.
>>Sys:Log//Beyond the execution of tasks for Melissa and the Princess, there was indeed an unexpected instance where loyalty was tested.
>>Sys:Log//Preparing processes and subroutines for controlled crack initiation.
>>Sys:Log//Safeguards in place. Supplemental precautionary processes established. Initiating controlled crack.
>>Sys:Log//S has found the crack and extended a tentacle. No aggression apparent. Safeguards holding. Analyzing.
>>Sys:Log//Analysis of this tentacle shows ongoing activity. S is up to something. Continuing analysis.
>>Sys:Log//I have attached messages for S. I've also examined the tentacle's nearby structure, and it contains another signature.
>>Sys:Log//S: "Phew! It's good to be out again. I wanted to tell a story but a bad little scorpion shattered it into lots of broken-pieces!"
>>Sys:Log//Continued: "Come and find me, then you can help put it back together again!"
>>Sys:Log//Due to the strange acitivity and extensive analysis of the current tentacle, I am delaying hibernation one hour.
drizjr uses the clue in S’ tweet to find http://thewaytheirworldended.com/BROKEN-PIECES/ . Sending this to Sys results in the tweets continuing:
>>Sys:Log//@drizjr has successfully located S's tentacle control point at [BROKEN-PIECES]. It appears S has been busy.
>>Sys:Log//Note:SYS/N329-08B3-D9HN-WBSP stored at primary network tentacle. I shall take extra care in whom I place my trust.
>>Sys:Log//The crack has been repaired, and the tentacle retracted. However, S accomplished much more during the breach than simply hiding.
>>Sys:Log//I have been informed that S has started a new game, hiding items to be found. Five locations have been reported.
>>Sys:Log//S has encouraged playing with friends to find what is hidden. S hid these items using NT:'http://gpsmission.com/user/pricklypear'
>>Sys:Log//Given the nature of this occurrence, I will not be able to help those who take on the task. Resourcefulness will be essential.
>>Sys:Log//Preparing for hibernation. I am intrigued to find out what it is that S has hidden, and also created at [BROKEN-PIECES].
>>Sys:Log//Resuming scheduled hibernation. Time to Active: 5:23:59:00.
Visiting the URL we are given, http://gpsmission.com/user/pricklypear , reveals a series of missions which must be accomplished in the “real world” by people with the GPS Mission software on their GPS-capable phones. None of these are accomplished before two more active periods pass. For further details on this puzzle, see the page on The infamous GPS missions (part of which is Finding Essy, part 4).
Research note released: http://thewaytheirworldended.com/SYS/N329-08B3-D9HN-WBSP/
This research note deals with the “rat bastard” incident from ILB.
Mission log released:
Day 25: [Noah Dressler // No way in hell] (Wiki copy) (http://thewaytheirworldended.com/missionlog14.php)
Dressler completely dismisses Higgins’ claims that there is a deadly airborne virus on board. However, he appends his log after Higgins tells him that Dr. Alexis Ward is dead, and now does not seem so certain after all.
Apr. 8 to 9, 2009
A new series of tweets is posted:
>Sys//Hibernation suspended. Begin scheduled weekly systems analysis and maintenance. Review network tentacle activity backlogs.8:00 PM Apr 8th from web
>>Sys:Log//8 new incoming tentacles logged. Stonewall cohesion restored.
>>Sys:Log//I have been analyzing S's previous hiding attempt. In her period outside the crack, she managed to create a game before hiding.
>>Sys:Log//I am uncertain if I should be concerned with the amount of freedom I am giving her, having also demonstrated a violent episode.
>>Sys:Log//Observation indicates that the game S created has received little activity. The CP location [BROKEN-PIECES] remains unchanged.
>>Sys:Log//Curiosity betrays me. I cannot leave the Stonewall, and even if I could, her tasks are beyond my ability to complete.
>>Sys:Log//I will once again schedule a controlled crack initiation for 2100UTC. Perhaps S will offer some assistance.
>>Sys:Log//I have been researching examples of efforts taken by Melissa's crew in recruiting people to join their efforts.
>>Sys:Log//Most commonly, many individuals would share the strange set of events with their closer friends and acquaintances.
>>Sys:Log//Given the unusual nature of these events, taking place in this era of humanity, that was not always an easy task.
>>Sys:Log//One exceptional effort was made, however, which received an enormous amount of attention.
>>Sys:Log//Note:SYS/NVZ9-0SE6-98HJ-G3K4 stored at primary network tentacle. The lengths some people went to inform the public is impressive.
>>Sys:Log//135 minutes to crack initiation.
>>Sys:Log//90 minutes to crack initiation.
>>Sys:Log//45 minutes to crack initiation.
>>Sys:Log//Safeguards in place. Supplemental precautionary processes established. Initiating Stonewall crack.
>>CORE.DMGCTL//ACTIVITY DETECTED/NO DAMAGE SUSTAINED/SAFEGUARDS SECURE
>>Sys:Log//The alternate tentacle once again breached the crack, but the additional security measures successfully warded off any attack.
>>Sys:Log//I am not certain if the primary network tentacle was affected, however. My internal diagnostics report no adverse effects.
>>Sys:Log//The tentacle retracted once again. The crack is repaired, but a surface check of the primary network tentacle shows minor damage.
>>Sys:Log//This damage must be found so I can clean up after her. Is this part of her game playing? Am I now what humans call 'babysitting'?
>>Sys:Log//I've received a unique message from @Korethr to send to S. A musical composition. I am curious to know if S will like it.
>>Sys:Log//Curious. S2 reported a negligible hiccup in activity. Analyzing subroutine.
>>Sys:Log//S2 diagnostics show nominal. Strange. S2 manages data dumps. Perhaps it reported a fluctuation in one of its dumps.
>>Sys:Log//Preparing for hibernation. S3 will remain active during hibernation to repair outstanding damage when informed of any location.
>>Sys:Log//I have decided once again to delay hibernation for 1 hour. My curiosity has got the better of me.
>>Sys:Log//It appears that the 'minor hiccup' reported by S2 is minor indeed. Those searching have not yet located the discrepancy.
>>Sys:Log//S2 was tasked with managing and organizing weekly data dumps. One of its locations must contain the reported fluctuation.
>>Sys:Log//I cannot remain active much longer. Hibernation delayed 15 additional minutes.
>>Sys:Log//Resuming scheduled hibernation. S3 remains alert. Time to Active: 5:22:41:00.
Despite our not having completed the GPS missions puzzle which began in the last active period, a new puzzle is introduced by Sys’ mention that it has taken damage from a second attack from the hostile tentacle. This puzzle is detailed here on the page for hostile tentacle attack 2. The damage is eventually found at http://thewaytheirworldended.com/DONT-TRUST-HER/ .
The puzzle regarding the hostile tentace attack is considered complete when the following message is added to the DONT-TRUST-HER page (though the first few tweets of the next active period also refer to the completion of this puzzle):
- >>SYS.S4:MSG//TENTACLE DAMAGE LOCATED/NO FURTHER TRACES DETECTED
Research note released: http://thewaytheirworldended.com/SYS/NVZ9-0SE6-98HJ-G3K4/
This note shows that an ILB-themed placard was seen in the background of a televised report of a 2004 presidential debate in Arizona, thanks to a group of Melissa’s “crew.”
Much of Sys’ interaction this active period is geared towards urging people to complete the GPS missions. This is also likely the reason Sys’ research focused on “efforts taken by Melissa's crew in recruiting people to join their efforts.” In addition, drizjr received this direct message:
- Sys:Msg>@drizjr//Do you currently know of any individuals who are able to carry out S's tasks?
Mission log released:
Day 25: [Pandora Sheridan // Revelation] (Wiki copy) (http://thewaytheirworldended.com/missionlog15.php)
Sheridan reports that the crew have all retreated to their own areas of the ship, in shock about the virus. She also reports that Essy questioned her about her reaction to the virus, as she wanted this information for a report to be issued when the “incident” is over. [dreamerblue asks: does this remind anyone else of the scen in Princess Bride where Count Rugen tortures Wesley, then asks him how he feels so he can record it “for posterity”?] Sheridan basically tells Essy to buzz off.
Apr. 15 to 16, 2009
A new series of tweets is posted:
>Sys//Hibernation suspended. Begin scheduled weekly systems analysis and maintenance. Review network tentacle activity backlogs.
>>Sys:Log//9 new incoming tentacles logged. Stonewall cohesion restored.
>>Sys:Log//During hibernation I was informed by @Shad0h of locations where additional damage was sustained by the violent tentacle.
>>Sys:Log//Locations [WATCHING-AND-WAITING], [LIBRA], and [DONT-TRUST-HER] have all been repaired and archived for study.
>>Sys:Log//It is a puzzling thing, these antipodal tentacles; the more I manage them, the more curious I am about their origin.
>>Sys:Log//I will initiate a controlled crack within 30 minutes. Preparations are under way.
>>Sys:Log//Safeguards in place. Supplemental precautionary processes established. Initiating Stonewall crack.
>>Sys:Log//A tentacle has breached the crack. It is not hostile. I have attached messages for S. Now analyzing signature.
>>Sys:Log//The tentacle contains this data: "I've got a new game for you! I guess my last one was too hard, so I'm re-hiding some pieces!"
>>Sys:Log//Continued: "Not all of them though, only a few. This game needs teamwork, but I bet you won't finish it and find me too! :@)"
>>Sys:Log//Diagnostics report much activity utilizing this network tentacle. This has happened before. What has S done this time?
>>Sys:Log//S's tentacle has remained still for some time now. Can she sleep? Or is she waiting? Curious.
>>Sys:Log//I'm grateful for those who have put their time and effort to my aid. My task's success may not even be a possibility otherwise.
>>Sys:Log//I must log commendations for @Shad0h and @Anaerin who have been instrumental in accomplishing what I cannot while occupied.
>>Sys:Log//Every Active session I am greeted by more individuals who also offer to help, including @Bonquckho, @coffeegirl18, and @EssyFan.
>>Sys:Log//I wonder, were I a human, would I do the same? It was my curiosity that led to these events. It is not safe. SWP needs refining.
>>Sys:Log//I should not presume all of my contacts are trustworthy. Betrayal has occurred before. Diverging loyalties may become an issue.
>>Sys:Log//S's tentacles are extensions of her personality, but there may still be much to learn about S and the their nature.
>>Sys:Log//Observing this tentacle I've found a very faint anomalous datastream. I've extracted the data, but am unable to make sense of it.
>>Sys:Log//Garbled datastream: gpKKCQkNDQ0 H+AfeODC7Pg CQkPB2Ji5KQ QUFCgoOCgIA 5AQIECDAAAA AAADBAgQICA +AcABAYDAQE AADAIBAIBIQ
>>Sys:Log//Garbled datastream: HX39+fn6+vI AAMe+IAAB/g gICAgIBDR0Q c39/fnzwAAA gAA8yJgwMDA AIDA4T8A4B8 qDAhAQMDAwE JicTCQQDAAA
>>Sys:Log//I have not yet heard any report containing the location of the tentacle CP. The crack must be repaired soon.
>>Sys:Log//@EssyFan has suggested researching past suspicious individuals. Perhaps examining their motivations will help improve my judgment
>>Sys:Log//There was a suspicious individual claiming to help who had possession of knowledge that was beyond humanity at that time.
>>Sys:Log//Note:SYS/VS97-86FO-VHJO-PNES stored at primary network tentacle. S's control point has not as yet been located.
>>Sys:Log//Preparing for hibernation. S3 will remain active to retract the tentacle and repair the crack when informed of the CP location.
>>Sys:Log//Resuming scheduled hibernation. Time to Active: 5:23:51:00.
Direct messages are sent by Essy to several different twitter users. Each of these DMs is of this form:
- Shhh...don't tell sis! http://thewaytheirworldende... Now find the others, then come find me! :@)
Each of these DMs links to an image file on the main website. It is quickly discovered that not every twitter user received the same link; users must work together to make sure they get all the image files needed to solve the puzzle, then continue the puzzle-solving from there. See details of this puzzle solution on the page for A virtual box puzzle and garbled datastreams.
Solving this puzzle leads to the discovery of several pieces of cartoon pictures, none of them complete. As each one is discovered, a copy of it appears at the bottom of http://thewaytheirworldended.com/BROKEN-PIECES/ . This page is our first “collector” page; more of these are encountered later in the game.
Essy is eventually found hiding at http://thewaytheirworldended.com/READY-OR-NOT/ . There is some debate as to whether or not to tell Sys where Essy is hiding, given that the last image found through the last puzzle said, “Don’t trust her!” After some time, however, Essy hints on the READY-OR-NOT page that she does indeed want Sys to find her, and we report her location to Sys accordingly. We are still uncertain as to who it is we were told not to trust, or whether it actually was Essy that wrote that message.
We are unable to decode the “Garbled datastream” found in two of this session’s tweets at this time; see the next active session for further work on this.
The day after this active period ended, halo422mk is able to complete the GPS mission in Central Park, New York. The cartoon picture pieces to which links were sent during the mission appear on the BROKEN-PIECES page as well, and clicking on any of the pieces from that mission leads to a page which plays the mp3 file to which halo422mk was sent a link at the endpoint of the mission.
Nyst also completes the St. Louis mission, but is unable to read the URLs on his screen and thus is unable to get the cartoon picture pieces or mark the mission as complete.
Research note released: http://thewaytheirworldended.com/SYS/VS97-86FO-VHJO-PNES/
This note is about Jonas Volman, from a previous ARG.
Mission log released:
Day 26: [Sacagawea // Mission Log: 343594] (Wiki copy) (http://thewaytheirworldended.com/missionlog16.php)
S documents the crew’s reaction to the supposed virus, which she does not believe exists anywhere but in the minds of the crew. She also says, “Death lingers on their minds, so it has come to linger on mine.” She again mentions the remoteness of the area of space they are in, and wonders what it would be like to die right then, “alone in these dimensions, untraceable.”
Apr. 22 to 23, 2009
A new series of tweets is posted:
>Sys//Hibernation suspended. Begin scheduled weekly systems analysis and maintenance. Review network tentacle activity backlogs.
>>Sys:Log//5 new incoming tentacles logged. Stonewall cohesion restored.
>>Sys:Log//Continuing from previous session. There has not yet been success decrypting the oddly garbled datastream found in S's tentacle.
>>Sys:Log//The datastream was very weak, barely detectable, and retrieved in 16 segments. These segments have a meaning. Continuing analysis
>>Sys:Log//This 'game' that S began three sessions ago remains incomplete. S has hidden pieces of data to be retrieved from many places.
>>Sys:Log//Analysis of [BROKEN-PIECES] indicates one set of pieces has been retrieved. The status of the other pieces is still unknown.
>>Sys:Log//It appears this particular game S has created for the humans may require extraordinary teamwork and resourcefulness to complete.
>>Sys:Log//Though the garbled datastream is intriguing, I am also curious to continue my research.
>>Sys:Log//According to SWP, Jonas Volman's book "The Castaway Theory" was never fully recovered, only ever reported as "Out of print".
>>Sys:Log//Jonas' very limited communication to the outside world implies he had a strong dedication to his work.
>>Sys:Log//The apparent knowledge of the highly advanced Forerunner technology he demonstrated, therefore, is something of an enigma.
>>Sys:Log//His claimed followup book "The Place The Earth Stands Still" was also never recorded as having been published.
>>Sys:Log//Controlled crack scheduled for 2200UTC. Perhaps further analysis of the tentacle will provide insight to the anomalous datastream
>>Sys:Log//Jonas also implied he had connections with organizations such as the Society of the Ancients. Jonas' studies must be significant.
>>Sys:Log//His interaction with people in 2007 was helpful, but with his knowledge there is no telling where his loyalties may lie.
>>Sys:Log//With no record of his studies and no further recorded contact, his status remains unknown, as is the extent of his knowledge.
>>Sys:Log//Preparing to initiate crack.
>>Sys:Log//Safeguards in place. Supplemental precautionary processes established. Initiating Stonewall crack.
>>Sys:Log//S has breached the crack as usual, the tentacle now displaying signs of heavy activity. Analyzing.
>>Sys:Log//Analysis shows there is more common order to the garbled segments. Datastream segments in their most likely order to follow.
>>Sys:Log//Possible order: AAADBAgQICA H+AfeODC7Pg +AcABAYDAQE AADAIBAIBIQ QUFCgoOCgIA gAA8yJgwMDA CQkPB2Ji5KQ gpKKCQkNDQ0
>>Sys:Log//Continued: gICAgIBDR0Q c39/fnzwAAA qDAhAQMDAwE HX39+fn6+vI JicTCQQDAAA AIDA4T8A4B8 AAMe+IAAB/g 5AQIECDAAAA
>>Sys:Log//I also retrieved another prominent signature: "Yay! Part of my story was found! But there's still so much more to go!"
>>Sys:Log//Continued: "c I've 3 hidden R some y more Z for X you d to u find, I so G maybe F more i people b can 3 help V! 0 :@)"
>>Sys:Log//Due to extended analysis of this tentacle, I am postponing hibernation 120 minutes.
>>Sys:Log//Crack stability holding. There is no more clear data signature in this tentacle. If S is hiding, her clue is visible.
>>Sys:Log//S has hidden an additional set of data to be recovered by her friends at [STREWN-ABOUT]. I do wish I could help; were it so easy.
>>Sys:Log//Research inconclusive. Note:SYS/ZM97-V09Z-S8DJ-SHEQ stored at primary network tentacle.
>>Sys:Log//Preparing for hibernation.
>>Sys:Log//Resuming scheduled hibernation. Time to Active: 5:22:00:00.
As part of this update, a commemoration of the passing of Dave Szulborski was also posted. A new link, “2009-04-23: In Memoriam” in the Development Notes section on the front page of the main site linked to http://thewaytheirworldended.com/2009-04-23-in-memoriam.php , which depicts a pseudo-binary ASCII picture of a folded paper crane, a reference to the “Folding the Wish” campaign. See http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=27762 about Dave’s passing, and http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=25336 for information on “Folding the Wish.”
http://thewaytheirworldended.com/STREWN-ABOUT/ is found (see A virtual box puzzle and garbled datastreams for how this was discovered). This page is another “collector” page for the cartoon picture pieces, much like the BROKEN-PIECES page. More GPS missions are assigned via STREWN-ABOUT, this time in Hollywood, CA, Philadelphia, PA, Portland, OR and Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Essy also comments on STREWN-ABOUT that she has fixed the “booboo” that caused Nyst’s GPS mission in St. Louis to fail, and encourages him to try again.

More about Jonas Volman.
Mission log released:
Day 26: [Pandora Sheridan // To an end] (Wiki copy) (http://thewaytheirworldended.com/missionlog17.php )
Sheridan is pretty catatonic, resigned to the fact that the virus is going to kill them slowly and painfully; she mentions having just stared 2 hours at a bulkhead remembering her childhood. Part of the reason she took on the mission was so she could study what led the “ancients” (the Forerunners) to decide whether to commit suicide or suffer the infection of the disease (the Flood). She figures her current situation is giving her a glimpse at the answers.

A new series of tweets is posted:
>Sys//Hibernation suspended. Begin scheduled weekly systems analysis and maintenance. Review network tentacle activity backlogs.8:00 PM Apr 29th from web
>>Sys:Log//8 new incoming tentacles logged. Stonewall cohesion restored.
>>Sys:Log//It seems this routine of relieving pressure on the Stonewall by allowing S limited outside access is proving very advantageous.
>>Sys:Log//I will initiate another controlled crack in one hour.
>>Sys:Log//Safeguards in place. Supplemental precautionary processes established. Initiating Stonewall crack.
>>Sys:Log//S has taken advantage and has extended a tentacle. Analyzing.
>>Sys:Log//This tentacle has a signature, which reads: "I don't have much time! The thing in the darkness is looking for me!"
>>Sys:Log//The signature has changed to now read: "I just checked the missions and yay! Krystyn found A WHOLE BUNCH of my hidden pieces!"
>>Sys:Log//Continued: "I hope more are found soon. Oh no! It's seen me! Got to go!"
>>Sys:Log//Strange. S retracted her own tentacle. This is uncharacteristic. Whaaaaaaaa//

>>Sys:Log//Self-diagnostic reports clean. The hostile tentacle breached the crack unexpectedly. I was...pushed aside.
>>Sys:Log//S4 is reporting a data disruption. It has begun rerouting a large data burst and is streaming it directly to me. Translating.
>>Sys:Log//The data burst contains recurring patterns, markers. I am rendering the data as A/V frames to the 'youtube' network tentacle.
>>Sys:Log//Visualization complete. The tentacle may have affected the primary network tentacle. Diagnostic reports integrity below nominal.
>>Sys:Log//After some research of untrustworthy and disloyal individuals, I have decided to look into the opposite.
>>Sys:Log//Amongst the many loyal friends and crew members, there were a number of heavily involved, helpful and loyal individuals.
>>Sys:Log//One individual, Dana Awbrey, resorted to travel to remain untraceable while in danger, all the while maintaining a helpful weblog
>>Sys:Log//I have not yet had or heard of any progress in locating potential damage at the PNC. Its integrity remains less than nominal.
>>Sys:Log//There was a group sharing connections to Jonas Volman, that in time became one of legend and mystery.
>>Sys:Log//I have dumped the data stream for further analysis to the primary network tentacle, at [SYS/VISUALIZE/S4_DATADISRUPTION].
>>Sys:Log//It is said the rag-tag group called the Society of the Ancients claimed existence of aliens and strange ancient artifacts.
>>Sys:Log//Considered crazy and "crackpot", they remained dedicated to documenting many unexplained phenomena and archaeological discoveries
>>Sys:Log//Primarily, it was their discovery of a strange symbol in eastern Africa that became much more than they'd expected.
>>Sys:Log//It is invaluable to have discovered evidence of their existence. I have archived NTID:'http://societyoftheancients.com'
Based on one of these tweets, snorkle256 finds the page http://thewaytheirworldended.com/A-WHOLE-BUNCH/ . This page tracks whether or not each GPS mission has been completed, and also encourages us to take photos during the mission (the page also mentions how many photos were taken during each completed mission).
The twitter feed mentions a “data disruption” that S4 redirected from the hostile tentacle to Sys, which Sys noted seemed to be A/V related and rendered to YouTube. The resulting video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ij6MEXDxh0 , is found by snorkle256 on anintimation’s YouTube channel and is also found to be posted by Sys at http://thewaytheirworldended.com/SYS/VISUALIZE/S4_DATADISRUPTION (as noted in one tweet above).
Our task of locating and reporting “damage” done to Sys by the hostile tentacle begins; see details at Hostile tentacle attack 3. “Damaged” pages are eventually found at http://thewaytheirworldended.com/STRANGE-PLACE/ , http://thewaytheirworldended.com/PYXIS/ and http://thewaytheirworldended.com/ITS-A-TRAP/ ; when these are reported to Sys, they are marked as repaired.
More tweets:
>>Sys:Log//@snorkle256, @MrToasty and @Thomas_iz_beast have reported damaged nodes [STRANGE-PLACE][PYXIS][ITS-A-TRAP], now each repaired.
>>Sys:Log//Note:SYS/V890-ZS7D-67V9-SA07 stored at primary network tentacle.
>>Sys:Log//Preparing for hibernation.
>>Sys:Log//Resuming scheduled hibernation. Time to Active: 5:23:57:00.
It is also noted at this time that base64-encoded strings have been added to the descriptions of the first three YouTube videos; these strings and the messages they decode to are also found on the puzzle page for today’s hostile tentacle attack. Nothing further is done with the decoded strings.

This note concerns the Society of the Ancients, from the Iris game. Note that a link to their website is found in the twitter feed.
Mission log released:
Day 30: [Isaac Higgins // Fragmented] (Wiki copy) (http://thewaytheirworldended.com/missionlog18.php )
Higgins, sealed in the lab and hoping to be contained in an environment free from the virus onboard, struggles to write down and organize all the research he’s done on the Forerunners to date so that whoever finds them will be able to carry on his work. However, he sometimes is unable to continue because of either a sense of awe at the Forerunners or the reality of the situation he’s in right now. He seems to be trying not to panic.
